The U.S. Embassy’s Youth Council Meeting

On November 7th American Library held the Youth Council meeting.

The U.S. Embassy’s Youth Council consists of over 30 English-speaking Ukrainians, ages 18-30, from a wide variety of backgrounds, all of whom have shown an interest in working toward bettering their communities. The council includes students from several universities, young lawyers, parliamentary interns, NGO activists, members of foreign affairs interest groups such as the Youth Diplomatic Initiative, and U.S. government exchange program alumni.
Douglas Morrow, Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer started the discussion. He divided participants into small groups. Every group had answer very important questions. What issues are important to young Ukrainians? How do young Ukrainians get information, news, media? Where do young Ukrainians see Ukraine in 20 years? How can the U.S. do a better job of engaging young Ukrainians?

Everyone worked hard and all attendants enjoyed the meeting.
