Friday Film Nights

On March 18 romantic drama Mona Lisa Smile has been shown and discussed. Jim Busse ex Energy Attaché Assistant of from US Embassy, presented the film and lead an after film discussion. This film is loosely based on the biography of Hillary Clinton. It tells us about California University graduate coming to Massachusetts to teach in Wellesley college. Free-thinking art professor taught girls to question their traditional societal roles. The speaker and the audience came to conclusion that people are still rather conservative about traditional roles of women in the society. Everyone likes the main character of the film except one patron of the American Library who told that Katherine Watson has been imposing her opinions to other people. 19 patrons enjoyed the showing. Mostly students of Kyiv Mohyla Academy, National Taras Shevchenko University and Kyiv National Economic University, two lecturers and several employees.
