Working Time change

Dear Library users,

Due to National University of "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy" official statement, academy studying week from 27 to 31 January will be carried out remotely. "Kyiv-Mohyla Academy's" students can study at home. Library will be closed for this period of time. 
You can still order books online in MY ACCOUNT and pick books in Library of Antonovych (at the 1st campus of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy) in reading room № 22. 

Don’t forget to take your American Library ID with you!

Book Choice - Martin Luther King

No one in America's civil rights movement has served as a more inspirational and influential leader than Martin Luther King, Jr.

Each year, on the third Monday of January USA holds an official holiday that celebrates the life and achievements of Martin Luther King Jr. He is most well-known for his campaigns to end racial segregation on public transport and for racial equality in the United States. 

Martin Luther King Jr.'s 'I Have a Dream' speech is among the most acclaimed in U.S. history. Today we picked books that tell a story about this prominent man, who had shaped the course of modern history.

Film screening by Mary Butler on January, 17th

On Friday, January 17th, Mary Butler from US Embassy presented an american criminal drama "To kill a mockinbird". With this movie, American Library starts a series of film Fridays “American Law Portraits in Films”.


Book Choice - Civil War

Today we picked books on American Civil War in 1860s. The American Civil War, also known as the War Between the States, was a civil war fought from 1861 to 1865 in the United States after several Southern slave states declared their secession and formed the Confederate States of America (the "Confederacy" or the "South").

Presentation of new european scholar program

On Friday, January 17 American Library held a lecture, presented by Larysa Chovnuk, head of National University of Kyiv-Mohyla academy’s International Office. Lecture was dedicated to new opportunities for "Erasmus Mundus" scholar programs, by which Ukrainian students, PhDs and university employees can study or go on traineeship in European Universities.
