Mendeley offers to create your own fully-searchable library in seconds, cite as you write, and read and annotate your PDFs on any device. We hope this training was useful for our readers.

Book of the Week - "Taking the Leap"

Book of the Week - "Taking the Leap: Freeing Ourselves from Old Habits and Fears" by Pema Chodron. This book shows us how to break free of destructive patterns in our lives and experience a new sense of freedom and happiness. Drawing on the Buddhist concept of "shenpa", she helps us see how certain habits of mind tend to hook us and get us stuck in states of anger, blame, self-hatred, and addiction. The good news is - once we start to see these patterns, we begin to change our lives for better.

Book Choice - Easter

Like Christmas, Easter in the United States is celebrated in both religious and secular ways. In many communities, the Christian aspect of the holiday, which includes Passion Plays and church services, is combined with visits from the Easter Bunny and hunts for dyed and/or painted Easter eggs. Yesterday (on Thursday, April 9) American Library held Children's Library Club. This time schoolers talked about favorite school disciplines, enlarged their English vocabulary, watched movies in English, draw and made good cheer.

Trainings "Google Scholar" and "Scientometric Databases"

Yesterday (on Wednesday, April,8) American Library held 2 trainings for researchers, scientists and students: "Google Scholar for researchers" and "Scientometric Databases". Both trainings, performed by Sergiy Nazarovets (Deputy Director for IT, NaUKMA), turned out to be in great request.

Book of the Week - "American History Comic Books"

Book of the Week - "American History Comic Books". Today American Library held Children's Club meeting. Topic for today was "Bambie" - in view of this we watched the "Bambie" movie in English, learned new unknown words and depicted the story on paintings. Which we found beautiful, by the way =)

Book Choice - World Health Day

World Health Day is celebrated on 7 April every year to mark the anniversary of the founding of WHO in 1948. Each year a theme is selected that highlights a priority area of public health. Today we picked books on health awareness, Food safety, Mental Health and Healthy lifestyle.

American Library is happy to be involved in our neighbours celebration - Omeljan Pritsak Library opened new spaces and new entrance. In common efforts this year we managed to develop new spaces (reading rooms and entrance). Omeljan Pritsak (7 April 1919, Austrian Galicia – 29 May 2006, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.) was the first Mykhailo Hrushevsky Professor of Ukrainian History at Harvard University and the founder and first director (1973–1989) of the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute.
